July 2nd, 2020 - Hikers in the Sierra National Forest discovered an abandoned campsite, with gear strewn about, near Johnson Meadows. Days later, hikers near that area reported seeing a bruised & barefoot woman on the trail, who refused help when offered. Over a month after the initial campsite was discovered, the same woman was seen by hunters off a remote road in the forest. August 21st 2022, an experienced climber, who survived an avalanche in 2005 on Mt. Everest, set out to summit Split Mountain in California. He was accompanied by two friends he had recently met on a social media hiking group. Near the summit, Than got separated from his group and was never seen again. In July 2013, experienced hiker and mountain climber Matthew Greene, was climbing with some friends in the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area of California when he experienced some car trouble requiring a few days of work. While Matt camped in Mammoth Lakes waiting on his car, his friends headed back home.

The Stanislaus National Forest is located in Tuolumne County California, near the northwestern part of Yosemite National Park. The forest is home to hundreds of miles of streams, rivers, and over a thousand miles of trails. Yet, just beyond the forests beauty lies a dark and mysterious past.

July 19th, 1991, 13 year old Jared Negrete was on an overnight backpacking trip with the Boy Scouts in the San Bernardino National Forest in Southern California. On a hike to the summit of Mt. San Gorgonio, Jared fell behind the group and was asked to stay behind and wait. The group planned to get Jared on the way down but Jared was gone.

On June 14th 2020, Erika Llyod set off on a pandemic road trip to Joshua Tree National Park, where she planned to camp. After she failed to check in with family for several days, she was declared missing on June 17th. Adding to the mystery, her vandalized car was found a day earlier by law enforcement on a highway near the park. Over the next several months, friends, family, and law enforcement continued searching for Erika with no luck.

On July 25th, 1981, 14 year old Stacy Arras along with 8 others went horseback riding in Yosemite National Park. After a long day of riding the group stopped at the Sunrise High Sierra Camp for the night. Stacy told her father she was going on a short hike to take pictures.

On June 11, 1998, 38-year-old Jonathan Aujay traveled into the Devil’s Punchbowl Natural Area, northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley, to go for a trial run.

In this interview, Mike discusses the case with two close friends of Arvin, Jay O'Rear & Jason Challas, both of whom have spent many years hiking with Arvin. Topics ranged from new details about the location where Arvin went missing to a more in depth look at Arvin the person.

On February 24th, 1978 a group of five adults set out from Yuba City California heading north to Chico to watch a college basketball game. After the conclusion of the game, the five men were to return to Yuba City, where they had a basketball tournament the next day. What unfolded next in the following days and weeks is shocking and unexplainable.

May 25th, 1999 - Carl Landers was on his second summit attempt of Mt Shasta in the California wilderness. An avid outdoorsman and runner, Carl was no stranger to the perils and the difficulties of a technical mountain climb. While ascending Mt Shasta with his two close friends, Carl decided to head up the trail first while his friends pack up camp.

The date is October 18, 1984, three-and-a-half-year-old Laura Bradbury was on a camping trip with her family at the Indian Cove Campground in the Joshua Tree National Park. The Bradbury family were regular visitors to the park.

In episode 5, we discuss the disappearance of Arvin Nelson, who went missing in Big Sur State Park/ Ventana Wilderness area along California's coast on August 6th, 2014. When Nelson failed to arrive at the Big Sur Station on August 14th, a massive search and rescue operation was started on August 16th.

In episode 4, we discuss the disappearance of Michael Allen Ficery, who went missing in Yosemite National Park on June 15th, 2005 while backcountry hiking a loop near the the Pacific Crest Trail. A massive SAR operation was conducted after Michael was reported missing which only turned up his backpack.
