May 25th, 1999 - Carl Landers was on his second summit attempt of Mt Shasta in the California wilderness.  An avid outdoorsman and runner, Carl was no stranger to the perils and the difficulties of a technical mountain climb.  While ascending Mt Shasta with his two close friends, Carl decided to head up the trail first while his friends pack up camp.  When they arrived at the next stop - Carl was gone. He had vanished into thin air! What happened to Carl? Where did he go?
