Daphne Westbrook was last seen leaving her father's house in St. Elmo (Chattanooga, TN) on Sunday 10/6/2019 around 6:30 pm, ET. She had her dog (Fern) with her. She had indicated to her mother that she was taking Fern for a walk at the park, then would be home. She never arrived home. Her non-custodial father was supposed to move to Colorado for work. He dropped all contact and stopped communicating with law enforcement.

On Tuesday 10/15/2019, her mother got a brief call from her. Her mother said she sounded strange, like she had been coerced. The call pinged from a cell tower in Dalton, GA, according to the police. That evening, the police located her abandoned vehicle at Glen Falls Trailhead on Lookout Mountain (near her father's house in Chattanooga). According to the police, the vehicle had been there prior to the call that morning.
